McEwen Memorial Park
McEwen Memorial Park is located on Highway #6 at Eriksdale, Manitoba. It is operated and maintained by the RM of West Interlake staff and Volunteers.
McEwen Park is dedicated in the memory of Donald A. McEwen, a conservation officer who was stationed in Eriksdale from 1953 -1963.
In 1963 he left the area to work out of Churchill, MB with the Department of Indian Affairs. On February 11, 1966 Don was killed in an airplane accident. His wife Norma and family donated his memorial funds to the Eriksdale community to establish a McEwen Wayside Park. A monument in his honor stands in the park.
The park had no facilities. The provincial government was responsible for maintenance until 1986 when they relinquished this responsibility to the RM of Eriksdale.
McEwen Park Development Corporation was established in 1988 to enhance and improve the park facilities from a wayside park to a 12 unit overnight campground.
The park is utilized for many functions throughout the year, such as ball tournaments, tourist camping, school picnics, family reunions, etc. The park is used daily for washroom and overnight camping spots in the spring to fall seasons.
The Park is a large, well-spaced, un-serviced site on grass and gravel. It is well-maintained, scenic and has private shaded campsites.

Overnight Camping Fee: $15.00 per night
Camping fees may be paid in person at the RM of West Interlake Municipal Office at #10 Main Street, Eriksdale, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. E-Transfers may be sent to admineriksdale@rmofwestinterlake.com (Please indicate McEwen Park Camping Fees in Message.) If a receipt is required please provide name and complete mailing address.
Fees may also be placed in an envelope provided and deposited in the locked drop box at the Park Entrance or the drop box located next to the RM office door at anytime.
Recycle Everywhere Bin Bags and Clear Recycling Bags are available for pick up at the RM Office, free of charge for campers utilizing McEwen Park.
